Santa Monica

So I decided to go to the Santa Monica beach with my family to take some photographs. The weather was perfect. Surprisingly, there was little to no smog around L.A., which for the most part, can be seen lurking around the cities’ sky-scrappers. Took a walk at the Third Street Promenade, soaked some sun, built sandcastles, ate some [expensive] frozen yogurt, and took some pictures.

Understanding Manual Settings on a Camera

Natalie Norton, a professional photographer who resides in Hawaii, was nice enough to write a four part tutorial on the different settings found on the typical SLR. While I was taking a photography class at my local community college, it was difficult to understand exactly how aperture, shutter speed, and ISO all play a crucial part in the composition of a photograph. After all, it would be  natural to think that an aperture of 1.4 would be smaller than an aperture of 22! Check them out, they’re an invaluable resource for new and upcoming photographers!
